On-Campus Parking
Parking on the Limerick Campus is limited and only available in the designated car parks listed below. Any vehicles parked illegally are liable to be clamped with a €120 release fee.
Car Park 1

The TARA Car Park is located across from the TARA building at the top of the roundabout. It costs €3, payable by card when leaving via the barrier.

Car Park 2
|
Located outside Summerville House, this car park is barrier operated and free. Spaces are offered on a first-come, first-served basis and are normally the first to fill up, so arrive early! |
Car Park 3
|
MIC offers a free Park and Ride at the Limerick Greyhound Stadium. The bus leaves the stadium heading towards campus hourly from 8:30am to 17:30pm and returns from Campus towards the stadium every hour on the hour from 9:00am to 18:15pm. Click here for directions to the Park and Ride. |
Overflow Car Park

The overflow car park is available for use when the others are full, and is located on the left as you enter campus via the Courtbrack Avenue entrance. |
WhatsApp Channel

The on-campus car parks are monitored daily by MIC Security. Once the car parks have reached capacity, they will let us know.
We have set up a dedicated WhatsApp Channel where we will share when campus car parks are full.

Off-Campus Parking
Off-Campus Parking is offered by Limerick City & County Council in designated 2-hour zones on Ashbourne Avenue, South Circular Road and Summerville Avenue.
Parking in these zones costs €2.00 for 2 hours and payment can be made via the Limerick e-Parking App or Online Here.
Traffic Wardens frequently patrol the areas surrounding MIC, so please make sure you have paid online as you could receive a ticket and/or a fine.
Public Carparks Nearby (within 15 minutes. walk)

The first walk around the MIC Limerick Campus can be confusing with the different building names and room numbers so we've oulined everything below to help you navigate the campus during your first weeks at MIC Limerick.

Where to Eat
There are a number of locations on the MIC Limerick Campus where students can enjoy a selection of food options or prepare food brought from home.
An Siopa (TARA Building)
This is the only on-campus shop and is run by MISU. Located on the ground floor of the TARA Building, it’s your one-stop shop for everything you need to get through a day at MIC.
You can enjoy hot food such as sausage rolls, jambons, hash browns (morning only), and microwaveable meals ranging from soups to curries and pasta dishes, including vegan and vegetarian options.
Microwaveable meals purchased in An Siopa can be heated by the shop staff; just ask at the till!
An Siopa also offers hot drinks from coffee and hot chocolate to a selection of teas with syrups available to upgrade any drink. If you own a reusable cup, be sure to use it and you’ll receive a discount on your drink.
We also participate in the Squid Loyalty Scheme, simply download the app, get your digital rewards card, and tap at the till each time you buy a hot drink.
An Siopa offers a variety of cold drinks, including soft drinks, water, juice, and protein milk, along with an assortment of confectionery and crisps.
You'll also find fresh fruit, cereal bars, protein bars, and various vegan and gluten-free options.
On Tuesdays, we receive a selection of SOS Cookies. These are only available on Tuesdays!
The MIC Canteen (Foundation Building)
The on-site canteen is located in the Foundation Building (Ground Floor) and is managed by an external company - Master Chefs Hospitality.
They have a wide range of hot and cold options for you to choose from including carvery, a chicken counter, soup, selection of cereals, freshly baked scones & pastries, and healthy salads. They also have a daily selection of sandwiches & wraps.
The canteen is open during term time from:
Monday to Thursday - 8:30am to 3:30pm
Fridays - 8:30am to 2:00pm
Vending Machines
There are multiple vending machines around the campus offering a variety of items, including soft drinks, water, confectionery, and crisps.

Microwaves / Toaster / Sandwich Maker
For those bringing their own food to college, there is a kitchenette located in the Chaplaincy Room in the TARA Building (T1.08) near the TARA Box Office.
Here you will be able to find a kettle, toaster, sandwich maker and two microwaves.
Water Fountains
If you use a reusable water bottle, there are various points around campus where you can refill it.
TARA Building
- Ground Floor: By the Students' Lounge
- 1st Floor: Between the entrance to the Lime Tree Theatre and the bathrooms before the stairs
- 2nd Floor: Directly above the location on the first floor, take the stairs one flight up and it’s on your right
Library Building
- On the righthand side up the stairs across from the library entrance
Foundation Building
- Canteen: Located by the vending machines
- 1st Floor: Along the main Corridor
- 2nd Floor: Along the main Corridor
Summerville
- Ground Floor: Next to the female bathroom on the ground floor
Tailteann
- Downstairs next to the vending machines and changing rooms.
